Selfie Ring Light Tutorial #6: Tying It All Together

This is Tutorial #6 in the Selfie Ring Light Tutorial series.
If you have not yet completed the previous SRL tutorials, you can find them listed here.
(Seriously finish them first. You’ll be so
 confused)

In the previous tutorial, you built the back cover of the Selfie Ring Light, and finalised the layout and component placement.

In this tutorial, we finish all the remaining features of the design.

Selfie Ring Light Tutorial #3: Components and Joints

This is Tutorial #3 in the Selfie Ring Light Tutorial series.
If you have not yet completed the previous tutorials, you can follow them from Tutorial #1 here.

In the previous tutorial, you created a Layout Sketch – a fundamental part of the design.
Inside it there was an outline of each component – LED ring, Battery Box, Digispark and Tact Switch.

In this tutorial, we’ll:

  • Insert each of those components into the design, and
  • Create and align joints to fix them to the outlines in our Layout Sketch.

This keeps the components in the right positions.

This is Tutorial #2 in the Selfie Ring Light Tutorial series.
If you have not yet completed the previous tutorials, you can find Tutorial #1 here.

In the previous tutorial, you uploaded and organised the electronic components into your Fusion 360 account.
All these components need to fit into the Selfie Ring Light design.

How can we bring them into our design?
How can we position them in a sensible way?

In this tutorial, we’ll start a new design and create a Layout Sketch inside it.

In this tutorial, we provide digital designs of those components; the LED ring, the Battery Box, the Digispark and the tactile switch.
You will have accurate, complete models to use in your own designs.

  1. Hooray!
  2. How do I get them into Fusion?

Learn Fusion 360: Model a Smartphone

In this tutorial, we’ll explain how to make a detailed “fit” model of a smartphone. As everyone’s phone is different, we instead invented a phone, and made up all the dimensions.

Presenting… the Earphone HEX.

You can follow our sketch and dimensions.
Even better, use your own phone – draw a sketch and dimension it, and make that instead.
